A credit pays for one answer on the models Free runs, so 100 credits are about 100 answers a month. That is enough to build an agent, test it properly and put it on a site with modest traffic.
Three steps to a working chatbot
- Give it your knowledge. Enter your website's address and the crawler reads your pages and the PDFs they link to. Add documents the site does not have, or type the answers to the questions you get most.
- Test it. Ask it what your customers ask. In the Playground, every answer shows the pages it came from and how confident the agent is, so you see at once where your content falls short.
- Put it on your site. Copy one script tag into your site's footer, or use an iframe. The chat opens in your colours, answers in the language the visitor writes in, and tells them they are talking to an AI, as the EU AI Act requires.

What is honest to know about Free
- The "Powered by ChatterLab" badge stays. Taking it off is an add-on on a paid plan.
- When the 100 credits are used, the agent stops answering until the next month. Free has no way to buy more.
- Collecting visitors' contact details, tickets, larger models, files from visitors, your own domain and the API are on the paid plans.
When to move up
Move to Starter (€29 a month, 1,500 credits) when the agent answers real visitors every day, or when you want it to collect contact details and open tickets. Studio (€79) adds your own domain, the API and files from visitors. Agency (€249) is for running agents for clients. Every price is on the pricing page.
Questions about the free plan
Is the free AI chatbot really free?
Yes. Free costs nothing, asks for no card and has no trial period that runs out. You get 100 credits a month for as long as you use it.
Does a free chatbot work in my language?
Yes. The widget's own texts exist in English, Dutch, French, German and Spanish, and the agent answers in the language the visitor writes in, also when your sources are in another language.
Can I put the free chatbot on WordPress?
Yes. Paste the script tag into your theme's footer, or into a plugin that adds code to every page. It works on any site where you can add a script to every page.
Where is my data kept?
In the European Union: the application in Frankfurt, the database and files in the EU. Two steps run in the United States under data-processing terms: turning text into search vectors (OpenAI, which does not train on it) and sending e-mail. The GDPR page explains both.
What happens to my agent if I upgrade later?
Nothing changes but the limits: the agent, its sources and its conversations stay as they are.
