Clients
Record which agent you run for which client, what you agreed, and how they hear from you each month.
If you build and run agents for others, the Clients screen is your administration. It links an agent to the client you run it for, and from that link everything else follows: the monthly report, the client's own dashboard, and your overview of what each client uses.
Clients is part of the Agency and Enterprise plans. On Studio you see the menu item with an explanation of what it would give you.
Taking a client on
On Clients, choose Add a client, pick the agent and fill in who it is for.
| Field | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Client | The client's name, as you want it on your overview. |
| Contact address | The e-mail address the monthly report goes to. |
| Language | The language of the report and its e-mail: English, Dutch, French, German or Spanish. It can differ from the language the agent answers in. |
| Per month (€) and Setup (€) | What you agreed with the client. See below. |
| Opening line and Sign-off | A standing opening and closing for every report e-mail, in your own words. |
| Send on day | The day of the month the report goes out, from the 1st to the 28th. |
| Show the conversations | Whether the client may read the conversations themselves, or only the figures. |
| Send the monthly report | Off means nothing is e-mailed. The client's link keeps working. |
| Show me before the client | Lets you add a personal note before each report goes out. See The monthly report. |
One agent has one client. The first time you take a client on, your own e-mail address is noted as the reply address, so that a client who answers a report reaches you and not us.
Fees are yours
The monthly fee and the setup fee are a note for you. ChatterLab records them, totals the monthly fees on your overview, and never charges them. We bill you for your plan. What you bill your client, and how, is between the two of you. The amounts appear nowhere the client can see and are kept out of the audit log.
What you see per client
The Clients screen shows, per client, the agent, the fee on record, the credits it used this month, and the state of the latest report: sent, failed, or held for your note. Credits per agent are worked out from the agent's own conversations, so they add up to what that client's visitors really used.
Use this to check your prices. An agent that uses 3,000 credits a month on a fee that assumed 500 is a conversation to have.
The client's own dashboard
As soon as a client is recorded, the agent gets a private Client link of the form /r/.... It opens a read-only dashboard of their agent: this month so far, and every past month since you took them on. The client needs no account, and sees nothing of your workspace, your other clients or your fees.
Treat the link as a key. Anyone who has it can read the dashboard. It is long and unguessable, it is kept out of search engines, and pages behind it do not pass it on to other sites.
If it goes astray, New link beside it makes a new one and stops the old one working. The client keeps every month they had. What stops working with it is the link in every report you have already sent, so tell the client where to find the new one.
Removing a client
Remove client unlinks the agent. The agent, its sources and its conversations stay. The dashboard link stops working, and no more reports are sent.
Moving a client to another agent
Not possible as such. Remove the client from the one agent and record them on the other. The report archive does not move along.
Through the API and an assistant
A key, or an assistant connected over MCP, can record a client, change what is recorded, remove them and give them a new link, by the same rules as this screen: your plan, and who may. The first time a client is recorded that way, the reply address is the workspace owner's, and the client is sent no reports until Send the monthly report is switched on, here or through the same door. A key or connection tied to one agent cannot: that is the kind you hand to a client, and your fees are on the same record. Sending a report is not among it: Send now, and Send to client for a report you held, stay buttons on this screen. API reference
